New Styles for Backyard Swimming Pools
Either at the beach or in a pool, some people find the act of swimming extremely enjoyable. Most people resort to swimming as a means of exercise or therapy to strengthen muscles while others find the activity to be relaxing and helping to release stress.
With different things to like about swimming, a lot of people have swimming pools where they can swim and relax in the privacy of their backyard whenever they feel like it. However, with new themes and trends being applied to exterior decoration items like gardens and patios, the swimming pool has also experienced a makeover.
Modern swimming pools are now popularly recreated into small luxurious havens where a person can relax, hang out with friends and forget about their daily worries. With this view in mind, here are a few swimming pool styles that are trending nowadays:
Elemental Water Pools
Swimming pools nowadays are being enhanced by emphasizing their elemental natures, with the addition of authentic looking stone caves, stone water slides with stone carved stairs and recreated falls, fountains and other features. With proper designing skills, stones can be positioned so that the artificial waterfalls can mimic their natural counterparts as authentically as possible. With so many features, swimming pools are given a makeover that makes one feel like they are stepping into a beautiful tropical lake.
Unique Pool Entrances
Most traditional pools have steps to facilitate access to the pool. To increase the safety of a pool, the new option is to add in a smooth beach entry or a shelf to the pool. A beach entry introduces a gradual slope to the pool eliminating the need for stairs and providing a sea shore look to the pool. A pool shelf imitates an ocean shelf ridge before falling out to the deep end.

Above ground pool2003-06-25 12:23:12 by dogluver22_NLI
I'm thinking of getting a not-too-big above ground pool for my dog's physical therapy. We are thinking of putting it on our patio (a 15-foot pool would fit). I have absolutely no knowledge about pools. I've checked yahoo but mostly I just get ads for them rather than tips on what I should look for. Can anyone help? I guess my first question is, can I put a pool (soft-sided preferably) directly on concrete? And what sort of accessories do I need?
