Thanks,LeeAnn,for having me on for your Saturday Playdate!
I'm Jenn,a Texas wife and homeschooling mom to my 3 kids under 6. Our days are hectic (and that's putting it mildly!),but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I blog over at Jenn's RAQ (Recently Asked Questions) and would love it if you'd come visit me! I am kind of random, but you can certainly expect some fun information and some reviews and giveaways sprinkled in there, too!
I'd like to share some of my favorite tips for entertaining the kids when it's hot outside. Yes,I said hot and it's only the beginning of April. As I'm writing this,it was 98 degrees today at the park! Good ole west Texas weather at its best. ;)
Here are some fun ways to enjoy yourselves without melting away in the hotter temperatures:
- Have a sprinkler party or play in the pool!
- This doesn't have to be elaborate. Kids are infinitely resourceful and really just enjoy the opportunity to do something a little different! Turn on the sprinkler and let the kids run loose in their bathing suits! Alternatively (or additionally),you can get one of those cheap hard plastic pools and fill it up with water. Throw in some bath toys, plastic cutlery, cups, water guns, etc and they will be psyched!

Following is a story that I wrote quite a while back, I just dug it off an old hard drive. There is nothing spectacular about it with the exception that it has been re-written several times. In my mind it's done. I'm very curious to see how something I consider finished will hold up here under so many eyes. I've read enough on here in the last few days to know that there is valuble criticism available. So please, feedback. I can take all kinds. I have a thick skin. Even the garbage anonymous nasty ones. I want to be a better writer, and I'm not gonna get there on my own.
